Think possible!

This is your time
This is your time to think possible. What seemed impossible yesterday is possible for you today. The time has come for you to step out beyond what seems impossible and reach for your dream!

Jesus was always encouraging His disciples to think possible. Walking on the water to their boat on the lake, He told Peter, to come to Him. Then Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Him. We know that Peter looked away from Jesus his destination, saw the wind, was afraid and began to sink. Jesus reached out and caught him saying, “you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew14)

Your hearts desires are your destinations. Jesus is saying to you, “Come”, believe you have received them, and you will have them! Peter looked away from his destination and realized that according to all his past experiences, what he was now doing was just not possible. In an instant he moved his mind from thinking possible back to impossible. The key to Peter’s few moments of success was the single focused thought, “I am coming, Jesus!” Oh that we all would follow in his footsteps!

A single focused thought will carry you over seemingly impossible terrain. I say seemingly impossible because to Jesus’ way of thinking there is no difference in walking on land or on water. It only seemed different to Peter based on what he was conditioned to think and that of course, became his experience. 
Walking on hot coals or fire has existed for several thousand years, with records dating back to 1200 B.C. in cultures across the globe, from Greece to China. Recently in the United States, fire walking has been used by motivational speakers such as Tony Robbins to destroy limiting beliefs. I am reminded of the Lord's words of protection in Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.The important issue is not what we are able to walk on but that by faith we can make "impossible" things happen.

Reach beyond what you have experienced in the past and realize that your dream is within easy reach. Think that you already have it, that you are already there, and the terrain under your feet literally becomes immaterial. Transformation comes by single thought saturation. Saturate your brain with that single thought. Think it continuously without interruption and repeatedly over short but regular periods of time. Think it, see it and say it!

Hold that thought!
Hold the single word, "victory", or “success”, or “married”, or “health”, or “wealth” or “debt-free” or whatever is presently lacking in your life as your destination thought. Hold the thought and feel the feeling, knowing that as you do, Jesus is causing the impossible to become real! Train your mind to do it. Keep your eye on the ball, and you won’t drop it!
Remember the words of Jesus, “Nothing will be impossible for you” Mat.17:20
Do it many times a day, think it and say it, for a few minutes at a time at least. You have to repeat the process day and night as abbreviated from Joshua 1:8, “Meditate on it day and night, then you will be prosperous and successful.”

Old Abraham too showed us the way. After receiving the revelation that what had seemed impossible based on past experience could actually come true, he tenaciously grabbed hold of his dream. 
“Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.” Romans 4:19-21 
Every night he contemplated the symbolic image of the end result, the millions of starts in the sky that represented his progeny. As he gazed upwards at the starry feast he was most likely saying to himself, “Children, children, children!", calling what did not yet exist as though they did. God promised, but Abraham had to do his part.

Saturate your brain!
The best time to saturate your mind is as you wake and before you fall asleep. At that time of deep relaxation mental activity slows, changing from beta to the longer alpha brain waves. The division between soul and spirit becomes less defined and that is when we are most impressionable for learning and accepting new thought-images.  
Doing things with God is what makes all things possible. He wants to do it with you. Like Peter, you have to get out of the boat and start walking, just holding the single thought. God is the one who make it possible
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
What seemed impossible yesterday is possible for you today. The time has come for you to step out!

Breeze to Victory!

My friend Paula had a way of staying cool when she taught kids in a hot African classroom without air-conditioning. She imagined she was standing in front of a large fan that was blowing cool air all over her. “It works”, she insisted! Anyone who lives in Florida as I do, knows the feeling of walking off the street into a cool store the middle of summer and pausing for a moment as you enter just to savor the cool, cool breeze. Yes, it’s a wonderful feeling!
I awoke this morning with a sense of great victory in my spirit. I was meditating on scriptures of victory;
 “The Lord will march out like a champion, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.” Isaiah 42:13
“But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Cor. 15:57 
”But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ's victory] “ 2 Cor. 2:14

Your Victory
There is a breeze blowing your way, a breeze of your victory in Christ. The breeze is blowing to you the desires of your heart, all the situations you have prayed for and have desired to receive from God.  Take a moment to remember the feeling of victory you experienced when you succeeded an achieving something you wanted. It may have been finally getting the car you had saved for, or getting the diploma you had worked so hard for. Mentally re-live those past milestones and savor again the sweet sense of victory and achievement! Now, couple that feeling of success to the blessing you are hoping to receive as though it has actually happened!
 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24

Example
To all my single friends who would love to be married, let us take the need for a good marriage as an example. Say that you want to be married but the right person has just not come your way. Stop thinking that you are lacking fulfillment but imagine instead the feeling of being in a happy marriage. Picture someone else’s happy marriage and transfer the situation to your life. Couple the marriage situation with the feeling of victory and achievement that you had in other situations. With a bit of effort you will get into it, it is not hard to do.  I believe that God gave the capacity for imagination exactly for the purpose of bringing about the hearts desires that He gave us in the first place. In so doing you will be breaking the association of marriage with defeat and replacing it with a sense of victory. Blow a breeze of being happily married all over you!

Victory in experiencing every heart’s desire is assured. Check the scriptures above and associate them to all your needs. Remember that God does not respond to need, only to faith. Let the breeze of victory in each situation blow all over you. Take the time to do it. God, working with the dominant sense in your spirit, be it victory or defeat, will maintain or bring about a change in that condition in your life. If your experience has been lack and defeat, switch on the mental fan and let the cool breeze of victory blow all over you.  Do it day by day until victory and success come to dominate your spirit.

The Biblical Origins of Thanksgiving

Biblical origins
The great American tradition of Thanksgiving has become a world wide phenomenon, in essence calling people everywhere back to a relationship with our Creator. Spend a few moments following its Biblical origins. In the Old Testament If you have sinned in any way you were to bring an offering to the priest who would offer it as atonement, restoring a right relationship with God. The poorest could only afford a little grain or two doves and others a ram as an offering of guilt. This act of giving to God through the priest would leave one forgiven. 

The Fellowship Offering
Leviticus 7 tells about the fellowship offering of people bringing food as an expression of thankfulness in which they offered thick loaves made without yeast and with olive oil mixed in, thin loaves made without yeast and brushed with oil, and thick loaves of the finest flour well-kneaded and with oil mixed in. Along with their fellowship offering of thanksgiving they were to present an offering with thick loaves of bread made with yeast. They were to bring one of each kind as an offering, a contribution to the Lord that belonged to the priests to share.

Gratitude through song and dance
Under the King David the expression of gratitude reached a high point. He set aside special priests for the specific purpose of making music and singing out songs of thanksgiving to the Lord. This was to take place after tending to the rituals of the sin and guilt offerings. In 1 Chronicles 16 we read, “They brought the ark of God and set it inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and they presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before God. After David had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord. Then he gave a loaf of bread, a cake of dates and a cake of raisins to each Israelite man and woman. He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, to extol, thank, and praise the Lord, the God of Israel. 
David was the master of giving thanks. As you will see below, through him gratitude was transformed by divine inspiration to such a level that it brought heaven down to earth. Small wonder that God elevated him from a lowly shepherd to king! I believe that regular and heartfelt thanksgiving was the key to David’s and Israel’s extraordinary success during his reign! Here are some words of one of his beautiful songs of thanksgiving.
“Let the trees of the forest sing,
let them sing for joy before the Lord,
for he comes to judge the earth
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
His love endures forever.
Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior;
gather us and deliver us from the nations,
that we may give thanks to Your holy name,
and glory in your praise.”

Remember past blessings
“Remember the wonders he has done, sang the priests, “His miracles, and the judgments He pronounced.” In this song of gratitude and praise David teaches us how to reach up to heaven with our thanksgiving, remembering past past blessings, all the great things that God has done for us. 
Let us do the same as a family this Thanksgiving day and not just be satisfied with good food and fellowship. Make a list of past blessings and proclaim them out aloud. Gratitude builds the faith and expectation of good that will make them come true. How very much God has given to us. Let us give Him praise!

Let God's glory fall!
The same chapter in the Bible tells us that the trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang: “He is good, his love endures forever.” Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud, and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God!
The scriptures reveal that our bodies are the temple of God and that we as believers are now all priests and kings!
1 Corinthians 6:19
“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?”
Revelation 1:6
“and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
Let us learn to give thanks and praise with such sincerity that we too can experience the power of His presence!

Kingdom Economics

The Great Depression
The Great Depression was a severe worldwide economic depression that started in the U.S. with the fall in stock prices and became worldwide news with the stock market crash of October 29, 1929, known as Black Tuesday. From there, it quickly spread to almost every country in the world. The Great Depression had devastating effects in virtually every country, rich and poor. Cities all around the world were hit hard, especially those dependent on heavy industry. Construction was virtually halted in many countries. Crop prices fell by 60%.  Facing plummeting demand with few alternate sources of jobs, areas dependent on primary sector industries such as cash cropping, mining and logging suffered the most. When U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt took the oath of office in 1933, the state governors had closed every bank in the nation; no one could cash a check or get at their savings if they had any!

The common view is that U.S. President Roosevelt's New Deal policies caused or accelerated the recovery. It was a series of programs passed by the U.S. Congress that focused on relief for the unemployed and poor. The Work Projects Administration; (WPAemployed millions to carry out public works projects, including the construction of public buildings and roads, and operated large arts, drama, media, and literacy projects. It fed children and redistributed food, clothing, and housing. Almost every community in the United States had a park, bridge or school constructed by the agency. The WPA became the largest employer in the country. Most people who needed a job were eligible for at least some of its jobs. Hourly wages were the prevailing wages in each area; the rules said workers could not work more than 30 hours a week, but many projects included months in the field, with workers eating and sleeping on worksites. America's entry into the war in 1941 finally eliminated the last effects from the Great Depression.

God’s New Deal
The world is again facing an enormous decline in trade and an increase in unemployment. Many good Christians too are unemployed. The future for countless millions looks bleak. It would be a mistake to again look to government programs for the answer. This time they may not succeed in working an economic recovery. Here is God’s answer to the problem. He wants to employ you!
 “But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all, His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.” Matthew 6:33 (Amplified Bible)
Jesus invites us to leave the world’s system with all its uncertainties and seek after and join His system and ways of doing. Then, He says, all other things will be added to us. We will have, love, companionship, housing, food, health, money and of course, eternal life. What a deal! Let’s take Him at His word and take up His selfless offer.

God’s payment plan
In Matthew 20, Jesus explains His payment plan to workers in His kingdom. He likens God's kingdom to an estate manager who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. They agreed on a wage of an amount per day, and went to work. At various times through the day the manager hired more unemployed people to work. The last workers only worked for an hour before receiving the same wages as the others who had labored all day. Responding to accusations of being unfair the manager replied, “Can't I do what I want with my own money? Are you going to get stingy because I am generous?” The moral of this story is that it is never too late, whatever your occupation, to start working for God on a full time basis and to expect a generous reward. The true source of all income
“See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power, and he rules with a mighty arm. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.” Isa.40:10
Recompense by definition means to repay, remunerate, and reward, as for service, aid, to pay or give compensation for; make restitution or requital for.
As clearly stated previously God owns everything, is all powerful and is therefore more than capable to see to it that you get recompensed for your labor in His vineyard. If you work a full time job, God remains the source of your salary even if your boss disagrees and falsely believes that he is.
Allowing this reality to sink into your spirit will eventually bring about a freedom from fear that following your hearts desires will somehow lead to poverty. 

God’s secret job openings
An important point is that God’s jobs do not have to be formal in the sense of being recognized by the world or even by other Christians. You don’t have to have a formal paying job such as the pastor of a church to be recompensed by the Lord. In fact it may just be the opposite.“Take care not to do your good deeds publicly or before men, in order to be seen by them; otherwise you will have no reward [reserved for and awaiting you] with and from your Father Who is in heaven.” Mat.10:1

Vineyard jobs
Just as a good manager will divide all the tasks according to the abilities of his workers, Jesus calls us to various tasks within His kingdom. No one is excluded. Not the evangelist, not the businessman, not the artist, writer or musician! “Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body.” 1 Cor.12:15

“Go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, and cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. Mat.10:7.
2.   2.  You are called to pray.
“And He said to them, The harvest indeed is abundant [there is much ripe grain], but the farmhands are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”  Lk.10:2
3.   3.  You are called to minister to God and man through spiritual gifts. 
“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.”
4.   4. You are called to minister to God and man through your natural gifts.
In Mat.25 Jesus tells the parable of the talents. “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability.”

Whatever you do, make yours a kingdom job!
The bottom line is you can switch your present job from a worldly job to a kingdom job by not doing it for the money but simply changing your way of thinking and doing for the Lord! 
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1Cor.10:31  Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” Col.3:23      
You can do it regardless of whether you have a boss or you are your own boss. Step one is to grasp fully the revelation that God will be paying you and not your boss or the worldly system that is so dependent on market fluctuations. even if He decides to pay you through them.
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Mat.6:24
No earthly job is safe but all kingdom jobs are secure! If you start working a job you hate or just tolerate but do it for God, and stop being afraid of losing it, He is able to move you to one in line with your hearts desires!
Are you really doing what you do as unto the Lord? If you don’t make the switch, more than just your livelihood is at stake.
“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me." Mat.25:45. When we who believe pass on to the next life we will be judged as believers for the works we did while in the flesh. Did we do it for the Lord or for the money?
                                                                                                                           
Working for God is called "giving"
Vineyard work means giving your time, energy, money and resources to and for God. "Give and you shall receive" is how His economy works. He keeps tabs on the motivation for all you do. Do what you do as unto the Lord and He will repay you handsomely if you take Him at His word and expect it. Kingdom economics works by faith.

God pays better!
Here are our wages. And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].” 2 Cor.9:8 (Amplified Bible)

The Lord of Surplus

Barely enough or more than enough?
"If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land." Isa 1:19.
We all know that there is great poverty in this world. Most people on the planet have a terrible existence, some living on garbage dumps, and others caught in crime, addiction and prostitution.

Is God to blame for the way things are? I think not. In Genesis chapter 1, God comments on His creation, "It is good". Without going into the full story of the fall of man, Jesus provides a powerful and succinct explanation to the seeming paradox by saying, "the thief's purpose is to rob and to steal and to destroy.." (John 10:10) If you are leading a life that is less than good in any area, you have been robbed by your limited expectations and an unseen enemy! Need I say who?

Fortunately for us and for all mankind, Jesus continues to say, " but I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly." More life means more in the physical realm, soul realm, and spirit realm. More of God, more of His presence, more love, more peace, more joy, more hope, more faith, more wealth, more health etc. In a nutshell, it means much, much more than you have now even if you have a lot!

What it takes
What it takes to move from not enough to more than enough is to ask and believe and receive. Jesus says in another verse , "blessed are those who have not seen but believed". John 20:29 If you can believe that you will have more that you have now in any area sets you up to receive. A vague hope that things will change is just not good enough. That's why we need to get the good news to those who are living without hope, to tell them about Jesus and His words. Here is a truth that is hard to swallow, God is not moved by need, but only by faith! "Without faith it is impossible to please God." (Hebrews 11:6) Faith is expecting to receive, it is a knowing that you will get what you are hoping for. Switch on your expectation. A thought-image of God's wealth constantly held in the mind will produce that experience in your life. Any prayer request continually entertained in your mind as an existing reality has a magnetic power drawing your request to you. If you persevere and conquer the pressure to start doubting or giving up on it, in time you will have it! (Mark 4)

Joseph Prince tells the story of a lady in Singapore, the billionaire president of a company that built the world's largest desalination plant. She grew her business by holding on to God's promises in the two scriptures quoted above, John 10:10 and John 20:29! Why are some businesses and churches struggling and others thriving? It is not a matter of the economy but one of expectation.

The Giver or the gifts?
I have met so many believers whose attitude is that we must seek the Giver, not the gift. How ridiculous that is! Imagine a bride saying to her new husband at the wedding, "I just want you dear, not your ring, the  honeymoon, the home you want to provide, the new car, the clothes etc." What a slap in the face of a loving God who is all about giving and sharing!  Deuteronomy 28:11 says, "The Lord shall make you have a surplus of prosperity.."  The gifts come with the Giver. Accept the One and He immediately wants to share all that He has with His bride, that is you!

King David knew how to accept more from God. David writes in Psalm 23, "You prepare a feast before me in the presence of my enemies, You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows". Israel was never as successful, as big and as powerful as it was under David. Its borders stretched from Egypt to Babylon!

God gives until it overflows, until there is a surplus. He is the Lord of surplus, not the Lord of barely enough. The surplus is intended to expand your life experience and for others who do not have enough. How much is enough? "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.." (Eph 3:20)  Enough is more than you can think about or ask for. It is even more than you can imagine! This statement represents the difference in the scale of what you are thinking and the scale of God's thinking.

Scripture commands us to transform our thinking. While you're at it aim higher, reach for the sky. We can be so much more than we have been. It starts by expecting much much much more than just enough. Believe that God wants to give you more than crumbs from a garbage heap, even more than the good things you have now and much much more than what you are accustomed to. If you say what you have is good enough for you, you have set your limits and not God. Restricting His giving by limited expectations limits what we can do for others simply because the overflow is meant not only to expand your life experience, but those of others.

Repeat this prayer daily and see your life change!
Lord, I am now planting the idea of Your abundant wealth in the good soil of my spirit. You are the source of my supply and all my needs are met right now and at any future moment. Money is Your idea because nothing was made without You. It is therefore, a good and divinely created substance. Because I am a branch and You are the vine, Your abundant wealth flows through my life like a mighty river constantly, freely and joyously. I am an outlet for everything that You have and as I hold these thoughts, great buds of abundance form, blossom and flower in my life. I give thanks for it and use it wisely for my needs and pleasure, and to expand Your kingdom here on earth!

Married to the Master.

The puzzle
For years now I have grappled with scripture seeking an understanding of why believers who follow Jesus suffer lack in a world of plenty.
The simple answer can be found in Matt. 9:29 "According to your faith let it be done unto you." In a nutshell, you will have lack if you expect lack.
Recently, I had an amazing revelation about the nature of our relationship to the Lord in the area of receiving all we need in this life. If you grasp these truths and adjust your thinking and beliefs, you really never have to lack again. Let me share them with you in a series of steps. Some may seem like old hat but putting them all together may just be the faith transfusion that you need to turn your lack into plenty. This could be your passport to a garden of Eden, living again as Adam did before the fall of man, free from  material and spiritual want!
Examine the logic. Ponder the statements carefully and you could end up harvest incredible results! The steps are designed to convince you of scriptural accuracy and help you build the faith or expectation you will require see the changes you long for.

Step 1. God owns it all
The Bible is clear about the fact that God created everything and owns it all.
"The silver is mine and the gold is mine, declares the Lord Almighty" Haggai 2:8.
"Every animal of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills...for the world is mine and all that is in it." Psalm 50:10-12.
Establish God's ownership of all goods, money, houses etc etc clearly in your mind. He owns the house you live in, not you, not the landlord or the bank even if they show you their title deed. God owns the money you receive and use, not your boss, not your client and not your trust fund, Baby!

Step 2. From God's perspective
Here lies a very important departure from natural or the world's "truth" to God's TRUTH.
For these concepts to work you need to get the revelation and start to see all things as belonging to the Lord. Of course, the world will dispute this and beat you down in court, but you are taking the important step of seeing things from God's perspective, not from that of the world or from what you have been accustomed to.
1 Cor. 2:14 "A natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit because they are foolishness to him because they are spiritually appraised"
1 Cor. 1:25 "The "foolishness" of God is wiser than human wisdom."
1 Cor 3:19 "This worlds wisdom is foolishness (absurdity and stupidity) with God."
If you consider it foolish or impractical, then you are what the Bible calls a carnal man.


Step 3. God's to give
Logically speaking, you can only give something to someone else if you own it in the first place. From God's perspective, only He as the true owner may give anything to anyone because He owns everything. Even the land within the borders of a country that the people consider their own may change when the Lord decides to change it!

Step 4. Your wedding gifts!
The church is the bride of Christ. By church God means those of you who believe and are born again.
Rev. 19:7 Let us rejoice and be glad...for the wedding of the Lamb (Jesus) has come and the bride has made herself ready."
As a believer, you are married to Jesus. From His perspective He is married to you in community of property! He can and does therefore say, "All I have is yours and all you have is mine" John 17:10
Because He is the creator and owner and source of everything, He is free to and actually does, pass co-ownership of every thing to you! Now here is where it get difficult for the natural man.
Jesus cares for you. (1 Pet. 5:7 "Cast all your cares upon Him because He cares for you.")
Jesus shares His love with you.
Jesus shares His mind with you. (1 Cor. 2:16 "We have the mind of Christ.") 
Jesus shares His ability with you. (Phil 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me")
Jesus shares His righteousness with you. (1 Cor 1:30 "Christ has become our righteosness")
Jesus shares His wealth with you, his health with you, His creativity with you etc. etc.
If you grasp this and it becomes the way you think, creative miracles could follow. 
His peace and joy will flood your mind, His health will flood your body, His wealth will stream into your coffers and even missing limbs can grow into place! Again, follow the logic and agree with God's word and expect it to start happening!

Step 5. Receiving the increase
Say you married an extremely wealthy person who shares everything equally with you, you would expect a dramatic increase in your bank balance. As a child of God you are married to Jesus. God is a Spirit but he created and owns all the material things there are. Am I being materialistic? No, Was God being materialistic when He made material things? He wants to share both spiritual and material ownership with you!. He does not lack anything and desires to share all He has, if only you will believe it and receive it! 
Psalm 34:10 "Those who fear the Lord will not lack any good thing"
I believe that God means exactly what He says even if it does not suit religious thinking and philosophy.
Remember, you don't have to chase anything, just change your understanding, expect it and it will chase you down. Being married to Jesus changes everything!

A word to writers, artists and musicians

God's Updraft.


I looked up to the sky this morning and saw a few Ospreys high up gliding gracefully through the blue. I was immediately reminded of the words of Jesus, "Man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." (Matt 4:4) It took the birds some effort but once up there they were masters of the currents and were moving effortlessly from updraft to updraft on outstretched wings. No sweat, no effort, no frantic flapping! God's word is our updraft. Getting it into our spirit takes some effort, but one there we can learn to rest in the uplifting experience of His sustaining love and power! Capish?


No Work?


These days we often see people at intersections asking for money with cardboard signs saying, "No work". You may be in a similar position and yet the Lord says that He will meet our every need, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus". (Phil 4:19) To be honest, not every bill of mine was paid on time and I have experienced times of serious lack. Here, we can follow the advice of the apostle Paul who states in the same chapter, "I have learnt the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."
    
Is God not serious about His word? Yes, He is friend. Behind Paul's contentment lies him knowing that while God's supply is constant, we live in a fallen world where an unseen enemy is doing his best to shut down the supply. Paul was able to be content because he knew that the temporary trickle of his supply will again become a mighty stream! God is the God of "more than enough" and not "barely enough". The ebb tide of God's ocean of supply in your life will soon change again and come in flooding your coffers.The sudden drop in air pressure for the bird on the wing will soon end and a new updraft will again propel the Osprey on high!

A Word to writers, artists and musicians.

What frustration to be born with talent and thinking you are unable to express your creativity because no one is hiring or no one has money to buy! Let me let you into a secret that will uplift you.
Do your art anyway! Bring forth the gift trapped inside of you regardless of circumstances. You see, your gift is not for yourself but for other people, to bless, heal and inspire them. That alone is the function of talent.
Now here is that secret locked in the Word. "The laborer is worthy of his wages." (Luke 10:7) 
Claim that for yourself and make that promise your own. Because He is the source of all things and is true to His word,  God will see to it that you are recompensed. It is His His promise and His job! "See His reward is with Him, His recompense accompanies Him." (Isa. 62:11) It will come to you from unexpected sources and in unexpected ways!.


Do it anyway!


Remember the parable of the talents. God expects you to develop end exercise your gifts. Do it regardless of circumstances, write, paint, dance and make music. Just how much great writing, painting and music has been lost to the world because talented people could not see their way clear to keep pushing on because they were waiting to be rewarded by men. Thank heavens for a man like Vincent van Gogh who kept going regardless of any sales. Unfortunately as a believer he did not know how stand on God's word but allowed circum-stances to break him. God's people perish for a lack of knowledge the Bible says. Hold on to this wonderful promise, "In all labor there is profit". (Proverbs 14:23) Your efforts will be rewarded.
God will reward you and sustain you and see to it that you have money to live! He is the source of all things and not the person who has money to buy what you have. Without faith in his timely supply you just will not please Him! Have the courage to make this truth your own. Your thoughts may have been amiss. Determine to do your thing, to bless, heal and inspire. God is good and greatly to be praised!


Repeat this prayer daily and see your life change!

Lord, You are constantly revealing to me new and better ways to serve You. My creativity; (business/ministry/writings/paintings/music/designs/photos.etc) inspires, blesses, heals and uplifts the spirits of everyone. You are guiding me to provide people everywhere with a revelation of faith and confidence in Your limitless power. In return, You recompense me in amazing ways that abundantly takes care of my physical, mental and spiritual needs.
