Just do it!

Just doing it can get one into serious trouble, especially the kid who has just watched the movie Jackass.
For those of you with loftier ambitions and callings though, there is no greater motto. Just do it!
I love this poem that says it so well.
IT COULDN'T BE DONE
"Somebody said that it couldn't be done,
But he with a chuckle replied
That 'maybe it couldn't," but he would be one
Who wouldn't say so till he'd tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
on his face.  If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.
Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that.
At least no one ever has done it";
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing we knew he'd begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quit it,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you, one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That "cannot be done," and you'll do it."

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
I remember encouraging my wife Ingrid years ago to begin her dream of having a degree in Interi-or Design. "Just do what you can each day", I said. Every big task can be broken down into small manageable steps and completing each one brings a sense of success and victory that spurs one on to the next one. Ingrid took seven long years to complete the course by correspondence while caring for her family and I am of course, very proud of her!
Break your big dream into stages and those again into a series of steps. Close your eyes regularly and see yourself with the eyes of your spirit having achieved what you set out to do or become.   Ask yourself how old you will be when you complete your dream?  How old if you don't start? You will obviously be the same age whether you do it or not.  The difference though is that priceless sense you will have of having done something wonderful and worthwhile with your life.  It's time to dig deep and to think what is really important for you to achieve and then,  just do it! Philippians 4:13 (Amplified Bible)  "I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me"  (I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me;)
